Bombini Tribe Day Nursery is an Ofsted Registered pre-school and nursery which provides day care to children from 20 months. We offer Universal funded hours, the Working Families Entitlement and Free for Two's local authority funding for eligible children, as well as privately funded spaces.
We are situated in the heart of the community in Kennington, Ashford on site at Downs View Infant School.
The day-to-day running is managed by Rachel and Sally and along with our team of experienced early years educators, our tribe work together to provide the best outcomes for children and their families.
Our provision is divided into two rooms. Honeybees provides a cozy environment designed to support the learning and development of our under-threes. Bombini's is our preschool room located within the school, right next door to Honeybees. It offers a wonderful play space that encourages independence and exploratory play while upholding our ethos of creating a home-like atmosphere. We ensure that our Honeybees and Bombini's come together throughout the day to maintain our family feel.

We at Bombini Tribe Day Nursery have a clear vision – to provide caring and supportive childcare in a fun and rich environment together with a friendly, innovative and professional approach.
We offer a homely feel to our setting in order to provide a comfortable and familiar environment for all of our children and visitors.
We understand the importance of partnerships and strive to create supportive and trusting relationships with our families and the local community.

Our setting aims to provide a homely feel that fosters a calm and relaxed atmosphere to make everyone feel at home. We make the most of the space we have, offering creative, expressive, and explorative play areas along with cosy corners for children to be calm and quiet and play independently if they choose to. We aim for every day to be a productive learning day and offer different experiences for children to explore, along with allowing the children to take the lead in what they want to learn and work with them to provide resources to support their developing skills and interests.

The Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) sets standards for the learning, development and care of children from birth to 5 years old. As an Ofsted registered nursery, we follow the framework which supports an integrated approach to early learning and care and underpins the child’s learning and development experience.
At Bombini Tribe we know that children learn best through play and exploration and ensure that children are offered a balance of child-led and adult-guided activities as well as maintaining the balance of achievable and challenging tasks to develop high self-esteem and independence. We use the Development Matters curriculum guidance to support our provision and centralise our early education around the Characteristics of Effective Teaching and Learning.

One of our garden areas is attached to the Honeybees nursery, which offers free flow play all day, in all weathers! It is a fully enclosed space which is equipped with water play, a large outdoor home corner area and mud kitchen, planting area and lots of toys and equipment to encourage inquisitive minds to explore!
Our outside space extends to the decking area surrounding Honeybees room, providing further opportunities for outdoor fun!

Our second garden area, connected to Bombini's room, provides free-flow play throughout the day! It features plenty of equipment, including water play, a spacious mud kitchen, and climbing tyres. There are also many cozy spots where children can unwind and explore. It is surrounded by trees which offers lots of opportunities to explore natural objects and spot the odd squirrel nesting above!

Our forest garden is located on the Downs View Infant School site, just a short walk through the school grounds. We use our forest garden to explore nature and enjoy the freedom of naturalistic learning.
As well as our dedicated outdoor spaces, we also have use of the many fantastic outdoor learning spaces within the grounds at Downs View Infant School, including a large enclosed playing field, a mindfulness garden and the reception class play area, to name a few!
We also like to go on walks outside of the nursery, often taking nature walks in the local recreation ground and exploring our local community.
